BuzzCream

Overview

This is an advertising group project back in 2017 for my senior year as a communications student. Our team created a mock up product that we need to create an advertising campaign around it. As the creative director, I designed and built a completely responsive website for BuzzCream, a mock up brand for making alcoholic ice cream products with four different flavors. We conducted interview with students on campus and in class to pick out what product flavor we were going to make. I then created wireframe and implemented our own design. The website is still up and running, and hosted under a wix web service. Click here to check the website.

Client Research

We conducted interview with the students in class and on campus at George Mason University and found what type of flavors are the most appealing one to our target market, which we determined our target demographic are millennials, specifically those aged 21 to 35 years old. Within that age group, single females will specifically be targeted and share their dining experience. We also planned a local shop which we set at George Mason University because  What differentiates BuzzCream is that there is not yet a selling location for alcoholic ice cream near Virginia or Washington D.C., which makes that one of our unique selling attributes. Shipping was also in the planning stage because the campaign was planning a shipping availability for the whole east coast. Because it is an advertising campaign that cross out different media platforms, our advertising campaign encompasses a TV ad, print ad, and online media advertisements. We are also creating a main website for BuzzCream as well. I was in charge of the TV ad story board and the home website design.

Information Architecture

After brainstorm and sketching, I started to design the information architect of each page. I went through several iterations about the information architect on paper, then used Balsamiq to generated our final architect flowchart.

Sketches and Wireframing

Based on our information architect and our sketches, I began to created wireframe for several main pages using Balsamiq. For every major page, we created wireframe for desktop. We have a wireframe designed for the shopping cart for online users. The following is a user flow for an online user to purchase our product online.

VISUAL DESIGN & WEB DEVELOPMENT

For our visual design, our main graphic designer came up with her initial ideas and created three product prototype with different color schemes. After we finalized all our designs, due to the limitation of member responsibilities and time limits. I used a template and configured it close enough to my design, the whole site is, however, fully responsive.
