Chia Reference Wallet

Reworking Chia’s Reference Wallet’s UI design

Year: 2022

Duration: 3 Months

Tools: Figma

Category: UI/UX

Version: 1.3 - 1.3.4

Solution

Problem

Design Approach: We focuses on unifying the light wallet and full node functionalities into a single, optimized client interface. This integration targets the fragmentation issues previously faced by users, who had to navigate between two distinct clients. By consolidating the backend systems, we aim to streamline interactions and synchronization, making the Chia client more intuitive and easier to use.

Problem Identification: The use of light wallets and full nodes with two separate clients results in a fragmented overall user experience for some users. Before optimizing the interaction and synchronization time of the merged backend, the new wallet interface optimization can help users quickly understand how to use the client after the lightwallet integration.

Features

  • Light Wallet Integration

Light Wallet Integration

Wallet Mode selection after light wallet intergration

Added Settings page for GUI apperance change and wallet switch.

The modal was later removed and kept the settings only as the sync speed was improved and no longer need to keep two clients.

Fee Estimator

Propose fee estimator for 1.4, earlier design was based off transaction speed and priority. There was no way of measuring transaction time at the 1.4 version.

Final Version Fee Estimator

Account Quick Switch

Proposed Account Switch for 1.4
